The nano level (for railway) is the level where track geometry and, in particular, curvilinear abscissas would be in agreement with on-board odometry. It is used for detailing crossing geometry, for instance. The nano level could be described as a properly attributed surveyor's map, including topological properties of the rail network in the finest possible granularity. Use cases for the Nano level would include interlocking and asset management.
