  • exposing something
  • A specialization of Action. Each instance of ExposingSomething is an event in which something causes something to be exposed to something. (The notion of X's being exposed to Y is difficult to define precisely, but very roughly it means that Y has access to, or can reach, X.) Some examples of ExposingSomething: taking off one's hat, stepping out into the sun, turning a page of a book, opening a jar of peanut butter. An instance of ExposingSomething need not be a PurposefulAction; consider, e.g. accidentally knocking one's hat off, or a gust of wind blowing one's hat off. For the relatively static exposure event which follows an instance of ExposingSomething, see ExposureEvent.
